Partnership with Boost Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention
The Thirteenth Angel Foundation has been chosen as a partner by BOOST Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention to develop the first Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) in Toronto. The Centre will be a child-focused, community-oriented, multi-disciplinary facility where the professionals involved in the investigation, treatment and management of child abuse can work together to ensure that a child’s safety and best interests are paramount. BOOST’s goal is to develop a child-friendly centre where children can be interviewed in comfortable rooms and receive all of the services that they need in one place.
The Centre will be the first of its kind in Toronto and the largest planned for Canada. With the help of the Thirteenth Angel Foundation and your generous contributions, the Centre will include a children’s playroom dedicated in memory of Angela Mazzaferrro.
The goal is to open the CYAC centre in January 2013, at which time; the Angela Mazzaferro Children’s Playroom will also be unveiled. The other partners in the CYAC project are the Toronto Police Service, four Children’s Aid Societies and Sick Kids Hospital.
